Non-Religious & Non-Denominational Services
A non-religious servicestrong> can contain poetry, songs, music and words of remembrance, spoken either by a family member or a celebrant. A non-denominational service may be similar to the above but with spoken and silent prayer also incorporated into the service. Scripture readings may be read by members of the family or friends and a service could end with a prayer, but this is only at the wish of the family.
A civil celebrant will meet with the family in advance to help them choose the format and content of the service. The celebrant will endeavour to find out personal history and personality details of the deceased, so that this can be incorporated into the service. The wishes of the family are paramount and every effort is made to provide what they ask for and for the service to reflect the personality of the deceased
